Parrains de promotion
Guest of Honour Arsène WENGER OBE , a National figure in both Great Britain and his native country France, received ECS London's Honorary Degree and gave a very inspirational speech to the 2012 class promotion bearing his name.

The "parrain de promotion" doesn't exist as such in the United Kingdom. It is therefore an Honorary degree or a degree honoris causa (in latin: "for the sake of the honour") that will be awarded by ECS London at the regular graduation ceremony (It may be awarded to someone who has no prior connection with the University, the College, the School and the Academic Institution often derives benefits by association with the person in question). Usually the degree is conferred as a way of honoring a distinguished visitor's contributions to a specific field, or to society in general. The recipient will be invited to make a speech of acceptance before the assembled head of ECS School and graduates – which often forms the highlight of our ceremonies.
The recipient Guest of Honour for the year 2013-2014 will be announced at the end of the summer term
